Be proud, be creative, be in the city, be invloved, Bee Manc

Wiki Manc Culture. Manchester is a city brimming with cultural activity and I've noticed quite a few people in the same scenario as me, always letting events pass. We list what's really happening in the city, from the major theatre's and galleries to the small spoken word events and art exhibitions. We do not favour one theatre more than an other because we're not funded. It's a wiki site so all are welcome to post appropriate listings if we've missed anything out. We can keep each other informed of what's really happening in Manchester.

We give everyone a chance to discover the culture of Manchester with our Events Board. No more do you have to miss that exhibition, theatre trip or even try out some opera or ballet if you feel like giving it a go. So much is happening in Manchester that it's painful to see the people not appreciating it. You'll meet like minded people in similiar situations.

Alternatives

Without trying to delve into doom and gloom, now is the time to be leaving your sofas and mollified lives in front of the tele. You live in Manchester. There's something creative happening every night.

This site started only with sixteen people interested in seeing more of the cultural side of Manchester. People who saw shows advertised but didn't really know who to invite, or went on their own without anyone to talk to afterwards. Maybe it just came and went with a shrug. I say no more shrugging!! So we arrange to go to a gallery, see a show or just go for a drink and chat about possibilities.

Maybe you think the Cornerhouse is getting a little commercial nowadays and you'd prefer to see something more indie. Where could you go? Odder... I believe are having two cinema nights, 'odders mini cine picture show' on the 18th Jan 19:30 and another one that was staged at Matt & Phredds (please amend if you know what it's called).

I'm not rich and have no way of always going to the theatres in town. Ok, there's enough little events on for people interested in culture to be busy a few nights of the week. We can make a difference to our own lives. A few pounds or a walk around a free gallery. The more of an audience we become the more events there will be. We can make a difference to this city.

What's going on in town? What does culture mean to you? Do you want to go somewhere cultural with like-minded people? [WWW]I do!!
